Matcha That Arrives Shelf-Ready — Filled, Sealed and Carrying Your Brand

A private-label programme rather than a raw-material listing. Why Buyers Move From Bulk to Tins

The decision to move away from bulk matcha is rarely about the matcha. It is about everything that happens after it lands: a container to source, artwork to lay out, labels to print, a filling step to arrange, and a first order that has to be large enough to justify all three. For a brand entering the category or a retailer testing a seasonal line, that overhead is the whole project.

Packing the matcha into the retail container at origin removes that step entirely. The trade-off is straightforward and worth stating plainly: you pay per finished piece rather than per kilo, and the minimum order is counted in pieces.

What a tinned order removes

Two Ways to Put Your Name on the Packaging

OPTION 01

Your artwork, printed direct

The tin or pouch is printed with your logo, colour and copy at source. One order, one decorated unit, nothing to apply on arrival — the cleanest route once your artwork is final.

OPTION 02

Blank stock plus printed labels

Take the container unprinted and apply labels you control. Suits a first run, artwork still in review, or a range where you want to test two designs without committing to a print plate.

Matcha tin pack formats
Matcha pouch pack formats
Tins 30 g / 50 g / 100 g
Rigid, re-sealable, and heavy enough to read as a gift or a flagship SKU on a counter.
Pouches 30 g / 50 g / 100 g / 250 g / 500 g
Refill, foodservice and value formats from the same artwork, with far lower shipping weight per unit.

Which Range Fits Your Market

Three ranges sit side by side in the same programme, differing by the compliance standard they are built to rather than by colour alone. Pick the standard your destination market enforces, then set the grade within it.

Range What it is built to Where it sells
RM · Regular National food safety standards, high cost-performance, consistent supply chain Beverage R&D, industrial baking, mass catering
EM · EU Standard Strict EU MRLs compliance, 400+ pesticide residue tests, global market access Export trade, premium retail, high-safety brands
OM · Organic EU / USDA organic certified, zero synthetic pesticides, 100% full traceability Health supplements, eco-focused stores, ceremonial tea
On harvest season
EM and OM are 100% first-flush spring tea. RM 4A / 5A blends spring and autumn harvests — a deliberate mix that keeps mass catering and beverage R&D cost-effective.

Decoding A–10A

No regulator defines what 10A means, which is exactly why it is worth asking a supplier to explain theirs. Ours rests on two things you can measure and repeat batch to batch:

Fineness — mesh
The scale climbs with mesh; the flagship organic grade reaches 800–1500 mesh.
Greenness — colour value
Measured on the ground leaf; the deeper the green, the higher it sits on the scale.

Ten grades across three ranges gives thirty selectable specifications, so a catalogue entry and a flagship line can both be served without changing supplier.

Inside the Tin: Shaded Leaf, Steamed and Ball-Milled

Matcha powder close up
Matcha production line
Shade covering
The bushes are shaded before picking, which is the single step that separates matcha from ordinary green tea.
Steam fixation
Steaming follows the pick almost immediately to stop oxidation, so the leaf holds a bright green instead of drifting olive.
Tencha, not leaf-and-stalk
Stems and veins are separated out; only the leaf lamina is milled, which is the definition of Tencha.
Ball-mill grinding
Slow, low-heat milling to 800–1500 mesh for the flagship organic grade, keeping the powder green rather than scorched.

Certificates, Numbers and Test Reports

Matcha organic certificates
Certification — EU organic
Issued by CERES GmbH, operator no. CE-209526, with matcha named on the certified product schedule.
Certification — USDA NOP
Certificate no. 4080209526 under 7 CFR Part 205; status can be checked in the USDA organic integrity database.
Certification — Halal
SSPY certificate no. SSPY-201318-33476, listing Matcha Powder / Extract as a certified item.
Testing — Eurofins and batch COA
400+ pesticide residues screened by GC-MS/MS and LC-MS/MS, reported below the limit of quantification. Each batch ships with a COA against GB1886.244-2016 covering colour, form, assay, moisture, ash and heavy metals. TÜVRheinland, ISO 9001, ISO 22000 and HACCP are also held.

Where It Sells

A finished matcha SKU under your own label, in a 30 g tin through to a 500 g pouch.
Hampers and seasonal releases
Small tins slot into gift boxes and limited runs, where the decorated unit is the product.
Distributor ranges

Buyer Questions

Why buy tinned matcha instead of bulk powder?
+

Bulk means buying an ingredient and then building a packaging project around it — containers, artwork, labels and a filling step. Tinned means buying the finished unit: the matcha is packed, sealed and branded at origin, so a launch needs no packing equipment at all. The trade-off is that pricing moves from kilos to pieces.

What are the pack sizes and the minimum order?
+

Tins come in 30 g, 50 g and 100 g; stand-up pouches in 30 g, 50 g, 100 g, 250 g and 500 g. Any pack size can be combined with any range and any grade from A to 10A, against a minimum of 500 pcs in total.

Which grade is worth putting in a premium tin?
+

OM 10A is the top of the organic scale: super premium ceremonial grade, spring tea, milled to 800–1500 mesh from Yabukita with Longjing 43 and Zhongcha 108, and produced in limited annual volume with allocation on request. Where unit cost matters more, the RM and EM ranges carry the same A–10A ladder under different compliance standards.

Is anything added to the matcha inside the tin?
+

No. It is 100% pure matcha — no sugar, carrier or added flavouring. Stored sealed and away from light and moisture, shelf life is 24 months.
