Food Grade Ube Powder (Purple Yam Powder) Anthocyanin Purple for Baking, Latte & Ice Cream

Short Description:

Ube powder (purple yam powder) milled from 100% Dioscorea alata tubers — the true purple yam, never a purple sweet potato blend. The vivid natural purple comes from the tuber’s own anthocyanins, and the signature nutty-sweet ube flavor is built in, with no added coloring or flavoring. Fine 80–100 mesh for baking, latte, milk tea and ice cream. Food grade, Halal certified, per-batch COA. MOQ 1 kg with free samples and OEM / private-label packing.

Ube Powder — Food Grade

Ube Powder (Purple Yam Powder)

A purple fine powder milled from the tuber of Dioscorea alata, the true purple yam. Both the color and the taste come from the yam itself: anthocyanin pigments supply the purple shade, and the signature ube flavor needs no added flavoring. Standardized to 80–100 mesh for even blending into batters, drinks and dry mixes, food grade, and packed with a per-batch COA. Minimum order 1 kg.

Formulation Features

A

Bake-Stable Purple

The acylated anthocyanins carried by Dioscorea alata hold their shade through baking, pasteurization and extrusion, so the purple does not fade to brown in the finished goods.

B

Smooth, Grit-Free Body

The tuber’s natural mucilaginous polysaccharides create a silky dispersion that resists quick sedimentation, supporting a clean label without added stabilizers.

C

Flavor Comes With the Color

A mild, creamy, nutty-vanilla note arrives with the pigment, so one ingredient covers both roles and no separate flavoring has to be declared.

D

Neutral pH Comfort Zone

With a 1% solution pH of 5.5–7.0, the powder sits comfortably in dairy, bakery and beverage systems without the rapid color drift of more pH-sensitive natural pigments.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is ube powder the same as purple sweet potato powder?
+

No. Ube is Dioscorea alata, a true yam, while purple sweet potato is Ipomoea batatas — a different crop with different heat behaviour and a different flavor profile. Because the two are often traded under the same name, we state the species on the specification sheet and on every batch COA so your documentation matches the material.

Will the purple survive baking and heat processing?
+

The acylated anthocyanins in this species are notably heat-stable, so the purple holds through baking, pasteurization and extrusion. For beverage systems where instant dissolution is required, we suggest pre-slurrying the powder with a small amount of liquid sweetener or oil before full dilution, since the material is dispersible rather than fully instant soluble.

What is the minimum order and sample policy?
+

Orders start at 1 kg, well below the common 25 kg market standard, so a new brand can trial before scaling. A free 10–100 g evaluation sample is available with the courier cost met by the buyer, and samples ship with a COA.

Which certificates are held, and can packaging be customised?
+

Halal certification is on file (Certificate No. SSPY 261310 23470, valid to April 2027), USDA NOP organic is available, and HACCP / ISO 22000 / ISO 9001 systems are in place; EU Organic documentation is provided on request. Mesh size, blended formulations and private-label packaging can all be tailored to your requirements.
