The biggest threat to a smooth EU import is not the tariff code or the shipping delay — it is the pesticide test report that arrives with a red flagged compound. Our EU Standard Matcha (EM Series) addresses this risk at its source: every batch is tested against more than 400 pesticide residues before it leaves our facility, with results documented on the batch COA.

Testing protocols combine GC-MS/MS (Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry) and LC-MS/MS (Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry) to cover both volatile and non-volatile pesticide compounds. The scope includes all major regulatory concern categories: organochlorines, organophosphates, carbamates, pyrethroids, and neonicotinoids. Samples are analyzed by CNAS-accredited laboratories, and results are reported with full method detection limits so your team can compare against EU MRL (Maximum Residue Limit) thresholds.

We test against Regulation (EC) No 396/2005, which sets harmonized MRLs across all 27 EU member states. For the pesticides most frequently flagged in tea and botanical imports — including Chlorpyrifos, Cypermethrin, Imidacloprid, and Thiamethoxam — our EM Series results consistently show ND (Not Detected) or values significantly below regulatory action levels. Your compliance team gets clearance confirmation on paper before the freight reaches Hamburg or Rotterdam.

Heavy metal screening is included in the standard package. Lead (Pb), Cadmium (Cd), Arsenic (As), and Mercury (Hg) are tested to limits under EU Directive 2006/52/EC. Microbiological limits — total plate count, yeasts and molds, coliforms — follow EU Food Hygiene Regulation (EC) 852/2004 requirements. All results appear on the same COA as pesticide data, reducing the number of documents your team needs to track.
